Terms & Conditions
1. Who we are and scope
This website is operated by TOP LIGHT d.o.o. ("Split Yacht Charter"), Split, Croatia ("we"). These terms govern the use of this website and reservations of yachts operated by us. By making a reservation you enter into a charter agreement with us as the charter operator.
2. Booking process
You select a yacht and period and submit a reservation with your contact details. A reservation is binding once we confirm it. Creating a user account is optional — bookings are equally possible as a guest.
3. Prices and VAT
All prices are stated in EUR. Whether VAT is included is indicated for each price and service. The charter price includes the services marked as included; optional extras and services marked as payable at the base are settled directly at check-in.
4. Payment
An advance payment is made online through our secure payment provider at the time of booking; remaining installments are due per the payment schedule shown at confirmation. Card data is processed exclusively by the payment provider — we never see or store card numbers.
5. Security deposit
A refundable security deposit, in the amount shown on the yacht page, is collected at check-in and returned after check-out inspection, less the cost of any damage not covered by insurance.
6. Cancellation
You may cancel free of charge up to 60 days before check-in; amounts already paid are refunded in full. For cancellations 59–30 days before check-in, 50% is refunded. Within 29 days of check-in the booking is non-refundable. If we must cancel the charter, you receive a comparable replacement yacht or a full refund.
7. No statutory right of withdrawal
As yacht charter is a leisure service contracted for a specific date, the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply (Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU and the corresponding Croatian Consumer Protection Act provisions). Our cancellation policy above applies instead.
8. Check-in, check-out and guest obligations
Charters normally run Saturday to Saturday; exact times are confirmed by the base. For bareboat charter the skipper must hold a valid licence and VHF certificate recognised in Croatia. You are responsible for accurate crew list data and for operating the yacht with due care and in accordance with regulations.
9. Liability
The skipper and crew are responsible for the safe operation of the yacht. Yachts carry mandatory insurance as stated in the listing. We are not liable for weather conditions, port or administrative decisions, or other events outside our control; mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected.
10. Complaints and disputes
Written complaints can be sent to info@splityachtcharter.com and we will respond within 15 days, as provided by the Croatian Consumer Protection Act. These terms are governed by Croatian law; consumers additionally retain the mandatory protections of their country of residence. Competent court: Split, Croatia.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the version in force at the time of your booking applies to that booking. Material changes will be announced on this page.
